A short stay, a real rest
Respite care gives a carer a proper break, helps with recovery after a hospital stay, or offers a gentle way to try life at The Willows before deciding on a permanent place.
Looked after, just for a little while
A warm, safe place to stay for a short while, with the same round-the-clock nursing and home-cooked meals as our permanent residents, so you can rest, travel, recover, or simply catch your breath.
A good fit when…
-
A planned break for a carer
Caring for someone you love is rewarding, but tiring. A respite stay lets you rest, travel or simply catch your breath, knowing they are well cared for.
-
Recovery after hospital
Extra support and round-the-clock nursing after a hospital stay or a fall, in a calm home where someone is always nearby.
-
A gentle trial of life here
Many families find a short stay is the easiest way to see, without pressure, whether The Willows feels like the right home for the longer term.
A warm place to stay a while
Caring for someone you love is rewarding, but it is also tiring, and everyone needs a break sometimes. Respite care offers your loved one a warm, safe place to stay for a short while, with the same round-the-clock nursing and home-cooked meals as our permanent residents, so you can rest, travel, recover, or simply catch your breath.
When respite helps
- A planned break for a family carer
- Recovery and extra support after a hospital stay or a fall
- A gentle trial of life at The Willows before deciding on a permanent place
- Cover when a regular carer is away or unwell
Government-subsidised respite is generally available for up to sixty-three days a year, and an ACAT assessment through My Aged Care confirms eligibility. We are glad to help you understand the pathway.
Settling in for a short stay
Even for a few days, we want your loved one to feel at home. There are admission and pre-admission forms to complete before a respite stay, which we can send through or hand to you on a visit. Call us and we will talk you through what is involved.
Come and see for yourself.
The kettle’s on.
Choosing a home for a parent is a big, often sudden decision. Leave your details and we will be in touch to arrange a visit, walk you through the government fees so they are easy to understand, and answer every question – no pressure, no rush.
Someone from our family will call you to arrange a time to visit. The kettle’s on.
