Warm Hearths and Winter Comforts
June 2026
Winter has arrived, and with it the small comforts we love most. Lamplight, a warm rug, a cup of tea, and the easy company that makes the cold months cosy.
Winter has settled in over Ashfield, and the home has drawn itself in close and warm. The lamps go on a little earlier now, the rugs come out, and there is a particular comfort to a cup of tea taken by a sunny window while the cold waits outside.
This is a season for small pleasures, and we make the most of every one of them. A warm room. A good book read aloud. A familiar song. The hum of conversation from the lounge on a grey afternoon. There is a snugness to winter here that we have grown rather fond of.
Keeping warm together
The cooler weather draws everyone indoors, and the lounge has been the busiest room in the home this month, with card games, music and easy company filling the afternoons. Nobody minds the chill outside when there is laughter and warmth within.
A quiet word of thanks
As we reach the middle of the year, we want to thank our families once again. Your visits, your phone calls, your cards and your trust mean more to us than we can easily say. You are the reason this place feels like family.
Stay warm, and come and see us soon. There is always a chair by the window with your name on it, and the kettle is on.
With warmth from all of us at The Willows
